Once again we find ourselvest in the land of wonderful, small airports.  Luxembourg's airport is one of those airports that you have seen in 1950s movies with the couple walking across the tarmac to walk slowly up the steps of the plane.  In fact, I am not sure there is any other way of getting to and from the planes at the Luxembourg airport.

It will take you about 15 minutes maximum to navigate the airport in either direction.  Coming though baggage claim and passport control is a breeze.  Once you are in the arrivals hall (just down from the departures hall) you are but a few meters from taxis, loos, and shops that sell everything from postcards, to newspapers to umbrellas.  My favourite umbrella came from the airport in Luxembourg.  It is bright blue with a circle of golden stars - like the EC Flag!

It is important to note that the only place that serves food and (more important) coffee is upstairs.  Fear not - this is a one minute diversion.  You can leave the family in the shop as you nip upstairs to regain your good temper with an injection of cafe au lait.  Don't forget to try the Luxembourg wine while you are here!  It is delicious wine from the Mosel valley and is almost never exported.  Enjoy your stay!
