Barbados National Curriculum

All of the Barbados schools follow a basic curriculum that is outlined by the Barbados Ministry of Education and  "modeled after the British system." There are book lists to choose from and a basic plan outlined for each grade, ultimately gearing students towards the two regional standardized tests (11+ for secondary school admission, taken at age 11, and the CXE (Caribbean Examinations Council’s Secondary Education Certificate Exams) to graduate. The schools are licensed through the Barbados Ministry of Education.
